Catching Up | 6/25/19
Nick wasn’t sure what was going on with Jackson or why he and Steven were back in Lima, but he didn’t care about that; he was just happy to get to see his friend. He dropped onto his knees outside of the new room number and knocked, practically buzzing with excitement. @jacksonxschuester

Catch up | Aura & Eunbi
Starter for @eunbixmp
It had been much too long since she’d seen Eunbi and, truth be told, Aura felt a little guilty that she hadn’t visited her friend over Christmas. With Bao Bao waddling beside her and a grocery bag full of snacks, as well as a gift bag in her other hand, she headed over to surprise her friend. Aura knocked on the door, checking to make sure that she had Eunbi’s present as she waited.
“Are you excited to see Eunbi?” she asked Bao Bao, the little dog looking up to her happily. His tail wagged, already looking forward to the snuggles.

Catching Up With the Past [ Storm | Mystique ]
Mystique walked down a random street, uncertain of the area she was in or was travelling to. She had no real purpose, other than finding out any information she could. She needed to. Knowledge was the key to really getting everything under your foot, as it were. Her main objective was to take control of the gangs in the sector she was to call home from now on. That was definitely something she needed to do, if not to get out of this strange place then to at least live more lavishly. She needed to find another mutant. She certainly wasn't going to use her own body to make any MGH, not with what she had seen that do to poor Dazzler.
Blue hands tugged uncomfortably at the tight, white pants and the white, sleeveless turtle neck she had procured just moments before. Stores were always so easy, but she had to admit being coloured the way she was, and generally being naked, had store clerks following her around like hawks in search of a meal. So, like any good girl, she had to rob the place. Having but a bb gun, she needed to make a good argument as to the impact a bb could have against a skull in such close proximity. That proximity being held right against the flesh of the cashier's forehead.
one was hurt, and she got away with what she needed. Not that she would immediately care about their lives. But she found she did need clothes here. No matter how uncomfortable it was to have actual fabric clinging to her flesh. She needed to get used to it fast, as well as get the hell out of the store's vicinity.
As she walked quickly through a connecting alleyway and on to another street, her eyes met with a familiar look. Oh, that was most definitely Storm, it had to be. Though, knowing someone had pulled everyone there from another universe...who was to say she knew this Storm or what point in time or even universe she was from. Then again...who was to say Storm knew? Oh ho ho, she did not. She couldn't know. No one could for certain, right?
The opportunity was seen and then immediately grasped as she ran up to the woman, a pleasant look and innocent expression on her face as though she was just so surprised to see her there. Allies were needed here, she would feign that she was an ally of good. She'd done it so many times before. Which both made it easier for her but also harder on her as she was just simply not to be trusted by most of the X-Men.
“Ororo?”

Catching Up || Amara & Perwyn
Things had been busy, with Knights being called away to ride out to villages where strange sightings had been reported and the people growing nervous over the rumours that were built and spread behind hands. Rumours had a nasty habit of warping the truth so that it was close enough to it that people still believed it, but twisted enough that people would convey and believe it.
Of course, Perwyn wasn't really busy with the sightings, although he and Learin had ridden out the days before to protect the villagers from a so-called sea snake that had never shown up. It was safe to say that he still believed it to be poppycock that only the superstitious believed in. Still, when they had ridden through a town with singed buildings and shreds of a story of a fire breathing dragon reached them, he had been more than uneasy.
Clearing his gear, he joined Amara, shoving away all the nonsense to the back of his mind. It had been a while since he and the female Knight had talked, other than a quick congratulations at her reaching Knighthood. She was one of the first female Knights, and there were more than a few in the Keep who still eyed her, and others, with a slight distaste. Perwyn was fine with it, although he had been a little embarrassed when she made Knight earlier than he had.
He stood next to her, watching the sky as clouds moved across it. "Shall we head up the Walls? We can watch the sunset from there. Maybe pick up something to drink on the way?" It was something he had discovered early on in the city, when delivering a message to a guard from Laerin. It had been quite the site from the hight of the walls, especially as a small boy.

Catching Up || Wesley & Daphne
If Wesley could sense it or not, Daphne was still rather skeptical about accepting his lunch offer. Four years wasn't that long of a time, but it was long enough to forget who someone was. To forget what you had with a person. Taking a chance, she decided to go along with it and catch up with her old friend. Seeing Wesley again made Daphne feel like her past was starting shake under her feet. For a long time, in her eyes, she had done a good job with keeping the past where it belonged; In the past. If wasn't talked about, it no longer mattered nor did it exist. For a while there, she had forgotten what it was like to see a friendly face from her pre-teen years. In all honesty, Wesley was the only person besides Gabe that truly stuck out in her memory. She wondered if Wesley remembered everything the way that she did. Bits and pieces of the year that they knew each other ran through her mind like a Kentucky Derby. Walking into Gialina Pizzeria off campus, she slid into a booth setting her purse next to her thigh. She locked her eyes on Wesley's face and smiled. "Well this is certainly a twist in my day. A few minutes ago I was taking a survey and now here I am having lunch with Wesley Caldwell."

catching up ↻ myungsoo & ara
"See you, hyung," Myungsoo waves at his manager hyung, Gonam, mouthing a small 'thank you' with a smile for driving him to the venue. "Pick me up later!" And with that, he zips his jacket up to his collarbones and eagerly walks to the entrance of the restaurant. The chilly air seem to strongly seep into his clothing, which makes him pace even faster to reach the place. But it isn't all that makes him feel eager about the night—it is, after all, the people he had missed being with for almost a year.
As soon as the glass doors are pulled open for Myungsoo, he breathes in the atmosphere blissfully, slowly scanning the place for his company. The guy spots them on the right most corner of the diner—of course, he thinks—they're on their most favorite place to hang out on, seated on their most favorite table. Myungsoo gives a small salute to the employees at the door and takes excited yet anxious strides to the rest of the actors and actresses.
"Nice to see you, guys," he chuckles, and soon bows at his seniors. Na Moon Hee pats Myungsoo's back, saying he's grown a lot, and other remarks along those lines. "Really, I have?" He asks and points somewhat stupidly to himself, still grinning widely. All of them have actually changed in some way, Myungsoo notices. Some more greetings here, more small talk there, Myungsoo easily tunes them out and finds a spot next to Yoo Ara. Finally, he breathes out. Someone his age, someone he can talk to informally. Besides, they haven't really talked about each other's activities in the past few months. The male loosens up in his seat and speaks at last. "Hey," he nudges Ara gently, pursing his lips. "What's up? How are you doing?"

“Well, I figured that it would be better to be over prepared because I wanted to make sure it was all perfect,” she answered, nodding her head. Aura would have actually brought even more, and had planned to initially, but the bag become too heavy for her to even lift.
Almost methodically, Aura laid out the different types of bread - some sliced, some rolls - and organized the rest of the fillings onto steps: spreads, cheeses, meat and various salads. She hummed, “Well, we can start from this side and then go across. So you can pick your bread first - this one is white and this is whole grain - and then your spread.. then anything you want really!”
Picking up two of the white slices, Aura buttered them because carefully folding in her fillings to a perfect square. Placing it into the sandwich press, she then closed the lid with a soft click. “It takes a little bit of time but I think sandwiches are nicer when they’re toasted,” she added, “Bao Bao likes them too. I usually just give him some ham in his sandwich.
Catch up | Aura & Eunbi
mpxauralie:
Aura was happy - the earrings suited Eunbi perfectly, just as she had expected, and her friend smiled. That was enough for her. “I think you’re the prettiest girl in the world,” she responded, so genuine with her compliments as always. As she set things down on the kitchen counter - boxes of sandwich fillings, spreads and a rustic loaf of bread - Aura naturally began to wipe down some of the dustier surfaces. She figured that Eunbi didn’t cook much, perhaps spent more time going out, so Aura made a quiet note to herself to come over more often.
Although she grew up with a full time chef at home, her step mother had always liked to be in the kitchen cooking alongside him. Aura had followed her like a little duckling, learning everything that she could. Food had always been her love language.
“Do you want to make the sandwiches with me?” she asked, also managing to pull an entire sandwich press out of her canvas bag, “Then you can put in the things that you like best too! I wasn’t sure of what you felt like so I brought a lot over.”
Eunbi scoffed at the, in her opinion, heavily exaggerated compliment, shaking her head slightly in amusement. She was by no means modest, but she did consider herself to be realistic- and as much as she liked how she looked, it would be ridiculous to claim she was the prettiest girl in the world. Even if mostly because, at least when it came to her face, it was all manufactured anyway.
“Um, yeah, sure,” she agreed, stepping closer to the counter to examine what Aura had brought along with her. She was not really a big sandwich person- in fact, she could not remember the last time she had eaten a sandwich. She also could not quite pinpoint when she had last eaten a proper meal, period. Which was perhaps helpful in this case, because she found all the things the younger girl had pulled out much more appealing than she would have normally.
“Yeah, you sure did bring a lot,” she commented, eyeing the sandwich press especially with surprise. She reached into one of the cabinets and grabbed them some plates, then fetched a few knives from a drawer for spreading and cutting. “Okay, so… Where do we start?” She asked dumbly, perhaps a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of options crammed onto the counter.

“Thanks,” Nick said, smiling shyly. “I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish the degree here, but it feels really good to be working on something like that.”

Nick squeezed Jackson’s hand back, wanting to let his friend know that he’d be there for him, no matter what. “I don’t really know,” he said honestly. “I don’t know how you’re supposed to move forward. Have you talked to anyone? Um, professionally, I mean?”

Nick nodded. “Yeah. And who knows, maybe we’ll need another four years for them to get enough points to leave here. I could have my degree by then.”

Aura smiled, having no intention of taking no for an answer anyway. She had always loved to cook for her friends and, since it had been so long since she saw Eunbi, there were many meals to make up for. “You don’t need to,” she said, shaking her head, “But I wanted to get you this. I thought it would look so pretty on you.” Aura thought that the gold would match her skin tone and that the delicate moonstones would complement her eyes too.
“You’re welcome,” she responded, reaching over to pull Eunbi into a cuddle. Bao Bao also took the opportunity to snuggle in to the other girl’s ankles, as if it were a group hug. “I’m sorry that I haven’t been around in so long,” she added, “I wanted to come but it’s been so busy. We have to chat a lot today, okay?”
Releasing Eunbi from her embrace, Aura picked up the bags again and headed to the kitchen - an area that she was very familiar with. “I brought things to make toasted sandwiches and pasta salad,” she explained, seemingly counting the boxes that she had brought over, “Oh! And I made little quiches last night!”
Eunbi nodded slowly, glancing back down at the gift. After a pause, she decided to pluck up the earrings and put them in. She had just been lounging around in a black tracksuit, so they would match the simple outfit and she thought it would make Aura happy to see her wearing them. “What do you think?” She asked, turning her head from side to side so her friend could get a good look at them. Honestly, she did really like them, and it showed in the small smile on her face.
She sighed, but allowed Aura to hug her, even going to far as to pat the other girl lightly on the back. She was not exactly an affectionate person and probably never would be, but she was learning to at least tolerate affection from certain people. “It’s alright. I’ve been… busy too.” She made no promises of how much chatting their would be, at least on her part.
“That all sounds good. Do you want me to help with anything?” She asked, following Aura into the kitchen. She could not help but notice that her kitchen was rather dusty, betraying how little she used the space herself. She had never been any good at cooking. After all, she had grown up with nannies and home chefs who cooked for her, so she had never been taught to cook for herself. It also did not help that she was hardly a foodie, seeing food as more a necessary inconvenience than as something enjoyable.

Catch up | Aura & Eunbi
mpxauralie:
Bao Bao’s tail was immediately wagging when Eunbi answered the door, rushing over to paw at her for a cuddle. Aura might have done the same, were she not completely weighed down by bags. “I wanted to surprise you,” she smiled, peeking over Eunbi’s shoulder, “Is it a bad time? I thought that I’d bring lunch since we didn’t get to celebrate over Christmas.”
Once Eunbi had allowed, Aura headed inside and carefully slipped off her sneakers. It was cold out and so a thick winter coat hung from her petite frame, resulting in a rather ball-like appearance. “I brought some cheese and bread for snacks, and also stuff so I can make you lunch,” Aura explained, carefully putting the bags down on the floor. Before she could forget, she also held out the small pink gift bag to Eunbi.
“And this is for you. Merry Christmas! Even if it’s a bit late.” Aura smiled, rocking a little on her feet in excitement. She had searched through so many stores to finally settle on the perfect gift - a pair of delicate moonstone earrings and a matching charm bracelet, upon which also hung a golden ‘E’.
Eunbi stepped back to give Aura and Bao Bao a path inside, quickly closing and locking the door behind them as a reflex. “No, it’s not a bad time. I just wasn’t expecting you,” she replied with a shrug, bending down to scratch Bao Bao briefly behind the ears.
“You really don’t need to make me lunch.” But maybe it was a good idea. She had not been eating much since the break-in, as if falling back into destructive habits was her twisted way of coping. “But whatever.” Which was essentially her bitchy way of giving the other girl permission to do what she wanted. Despite the weak protest, it was not like she was going to actively stop Aura from making lunch.
She blinked in surprise when the younger woman offered her the gift, feeling something almost like guilt as she hesitantly reached out and took it. “I didn’t get you anything,” she admitted, voice as carefully neutral and even as ever. She carefully pulled the jewelry box out of the bag and opened it, examining the earrings and bracelet for a long moment. Oh man, this was even worse than getting Jinseok a Subway gift card for Christmas. This was why she should not have been allowed friends, especially around the holidays. “They’re lovely, Aura… Thank you.”

“Are you excited to see Eunbi?” she asked Bao Bao, the little dog looking up to her happily. His tail wagged, already looking forward to the snuggles.
Had Eunbi been avoiding Aura? Yeah, probably. It only seemed like the right thing to do– she still did not understand why the naive girl felt the need to friend someone as frigid and, quite frankly, mean as her. It simply did not make sense. And it seemed to her that Aura was much better off making other, nicer friends and forgetting all about her.
She had thought that her plan to distance herself was working quite well.
But obviously not, she realized when she opened her door to find Aura and Bao Bao standing there. “Aura?” She could not help but sound surprised, given that she had figured the other woman would have long forgotten her and gotten herself a new gaggle of happy little friends to replace her. “What are you doing here?” She asked, not unkindly. Truth be told, she did not really mind that Aura had shown up. She was trying to be a better person, after all; so maybe there was no harm in letting the girl be her friend, if she was so hell-bent on it.
“Uh, come in, I guess.”
